An active, caring community for seniors

From the Desk of the Executive Director

Families and Friends of Kokoro:
Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu!    Happy New Year to all !!!!
Staff Support:  Thanks to all who made donations to the staff support fund.  Through your generosity over $8,000.00 of gift cards and door prizes were given to the Kokoro staff.   We appreciate the many boxes of candies and cookies that were given and shared by the staff.  Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
Health: The Flu and Cold is going around again! It is commonly spread by coughing/sneezing; touching something with the flu virus/bacteria (ex. door knobs, toilet handles, walker handles).  If you suspect you may have a cold or flu please stay away and come and visit Kokoro when you are better.  If your loved one is showing signs of the flu please notify Naoko Jones, Director of Resident Care or, Rebecca Herrera, Staff Nurse.
Resident/Family Meeting:   Please join the senior staff and Kokoro Board on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at our Residents and Family Meeting.   We will be showing our residents how we are prepared to respond to a natural disaster like an earthquake in San Francisco.
Rooftop Garden Public Meeting:   Planning continues for our Rooftop Garden Project.  The architect plans have been submitted to the City Planning Department and our next step is to hold a public meeting where neighbors and other interested parties can voice their concerns.   The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday January 24, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Kokoro.  Please contact Kirk if you have any questions.
